KfW Stiftung's Art Collection
As part of its commitment to supporting art and culture, the foundation KfW Stiftung maintains an art collection that spans a wide range of artistic disciplines: from photography and film to painting and sculpture, and from artistic research to political activism.
Collecting to Support – About the Art Collection
The artworks in the collection have a special connection to the KfW Stiftung: many projects were originally conceived as part of the international support programme. Some were developed and acquired specifically for the KfW Stiftung’s Villa 102. Today, they are not only part of the collection but also embody processes of artistic production and collaboration. As diverse as their global contexts may be, their thematic connections are equally surprising: How are collective memory and artistic practice linked? How can history be told, and what materiality and form does the past take? The KfW Stiftung’s collection challenges and questions social contexts. The collection is an invitation to engage with contemporary impulses.
The following artists are part of the art collection: Salwa Aleryani, Orawan Arunrak, Vartan Avakian, Laurenz Berges, Gaëlle Choisne, Ahmed El Ghoneimy, Gladys Kalichini, Khvay Samnang, Hamlet Lavastida, Dan Lie, Talya Lubinsky, Stary Mwaba, Elia Nurvista, Andrés Pereira Paz, Matheus Rocha Pitta, Prajakta Potnis, Thabiso Sekgala, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Mai, and Carla Zaccagnini.

Where can I find the collection?
The works from the art collection are exhibited in the premises of the KfW Bankengruppe and at Villa 102.
The works can be viewed at Villa 102 as part of guided tours and the public programme. The historic building—a grand residential house dating from 1912—is itself a repository of its own eventful history. Through the dialogue between art and architecture, discursive perspectives on memory and history are made visible and tangible.

Audio guide
An audio guide is available at Villa 102, which introduces selected works from the collection. You can find the QR codes for the works on the labels next to the artworks and in the leaflets provided. The audio tracks can also be listened to here.
