Bundesweiter Vorlesetag
KfW Stiftung becomes partner of Stiftung Lesen`s National Reading Day (Bundesweiter Vorlesetag) for the first time.
We are in!
This year KfW Stiftung is participating in the nationwide reading day organised by Stiftung Lesen for the first time and is supporting the initiative as a partner. The nationwide "Vorlesetag" (reading day), a joint campaign by DIE ZEIT, Stiftung Lesen and Deutsche Bahn Stiftung, inspires thousands of readers and listeners throughout Germany every year.
On 21 November, KfW Stiftung is making Villa 102 available for three readings dealing with important social issues such as nature and climate, the promotion of democracy and media knowledge.
Committed reading mentors have already been recruited for the readings:
Jennifer Sieglar, television presenter and author, will read from Katja Brandis' book ‘Woodwalkers’ to children in grades 5 and 6 at the Helene Lange School. As a member of the jury for the City of Frankfurt's Sustainability Award, the KfW Stiftung got to know this year's winning school.
Maja Sommer, presenter and speaker, will read from Michael Ende's book ‘Momo’ to a group from Mädchenbüro Milena. The focus here is on the topics of time and media consumption. The KfW Stiftung already has close ties with Mädchenbüro Milena through various support projects.
For the third group, Spiegel bestselling author and KfW employee Sophia Como reads from the book ‘Der Recyclosaurus’ by Anka Schwelgin to the KfW kindergarten.
This year marks the 22nd anniversary of National Reading Day. This year's motto, „Vorlesen spricht Deine Sprache“, emphasises the diversity of reading aloud and the importance of each individual voice and language.
By participating in National Reading Day, the KfW Stiftung is underlining its social commitment and its dedication to educational equality, environmental awareness and democratic values.
