KfW Stiftung's Art Collection
From September, KfW Stiftung will be presenting its collection for the first time in the historic rooms of Villa 102 with the exhibition MEET ME AT THE VILLA!. The group show features a selection of contemporary positions that address current issues of a globalised present.
MEET ME AT THE VILLA! brings together emerging and diverse artistic positions: From photography and film to painting and sculpture, from artistic research to practices informed by political activism, the exhibition provides an insight into tendencies in the contemporary art world in its many contexts.
The works presented have a special connection to KfW Stiftung, with the exhibition bringing together many former scholarship holders from the arts and culture programme. Having found their starting point as experiments in the artist-in-residence studio at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, the artistic projects were developed further over the years and are now part of the collection.
The exhibition reveals surprising formal and thematic interrelationships between the works. In dialogue with the listed architecture of Villa 102, one question runs like a red thread through the exhibition: Can memory be given a form? Spanning two floors, visitors are guided through the former residence - from the representative rooms on the ground floor to the private living space on the first floor.
With MEET ME AT THE VILLA! the KfW Stiftung invites visitors to experience its collection reflected in the history of Villa 102. The exhibition runs until 11 January 2026 and is accompanied by a comprehensive supporting programme.
With Salwa Aleryani, Orawan Arunrak, Vartan Avakian, Laurenz Berges, Gaëlle Choisne, Ahmed El Ghoneimy, Gladys Kalichini, Khvay Samnang, Hamlet Lavastida, Dan Lie, Talya Lubinsky, Stary Mwaba, Elia Nurvista, Andrés Pereira Paz, Matheus Rocha Pitta, Prajakta Potnis, Thabiso Sekgala, Nguyễn Thị Thanh Mai and Carla Zaccagnini.
